New Company Offers Products for HP Pro Series Printers to Reduce Ink Costs

Littleton, CO (PRWEB) February 1, 2010
Adaptive Ink offers three new Continuous Ink Give System (CISS) products for any HP OfficeJet Pro Series printer that uses cartridge numbers 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 88, and 940:
1. Two models of Continuous Refillable Cartridges (set of four cartridges each)
2. Two Mini-Pro Series models with dye or pigment total ink volume of 280mL
3. Eight Pro Series models with dye or pigment ink: 900mL, 1440mL, 1800mL, or 2880mL tanks
Each Pro Series model is equipped to plug-and-play, and includes the following:
Sealed ink tanks that are available in several different volumes
Cartridge assemblies with patent-pending connectors easily connect/disconnect to external tanks
Bladder safely protected inside a tough external tank
High-quality tank storage space drawer/printer stand made of heavy-gauge steel
A near-empty ink level visual indicator to say you when to reorder a new tank
Auto-reset smart chips (except for 940 cartridges)
The smallest Pro Series model starts at 9.95 and has 900mL total ink volume. That is a comparable value of greater than 0 worth of ink and equipment. All products are pre-primed with the same high-quality dye or pigment ink as cartridges sold by OEM printer manufacturers, but at a fraction of the cost.
“Our CISSs provide a fantastic value per volume of ink, especially in our 720mL tanks that provide less than a penny-per-page affect ink cost solution (greater than 38,000 affect pages per ISO/IEC 24711). The ink is contained in an airtight, light-waterproof bladder that keeps the ink chemistry stable beyond 5 years.” said Eric Johnson, VP of Sales & Marketing for Adaptive Ink.
Adaptive Ink also has an innovative recycling program for its empty Pro Series CISS tanks. Customers can simply drop the empty ink tank into any outgoing mailbox, because a pre-paid postage mark has already been applied to the tank – no packaging is required. The U.S. Postal Benefit will return the tanks to Adaptive Ink to be refilled and recycled for the next customer.
“By recycling and refilling these tanks” Johnson said, “our customers are not only saving money, but they are really taking a step towards cleaning up our environment.”

The Corner
The Corner

Written by the creators of The Wire – before they did The Wire – the book covers a year in the life of a Baltimore corner and the characters within it. This is not a novel, it’s non-fiction and really a piece of journalism in a book format as much as anything. The writers spent a year in the neighbourhood being paid to know people and then wrote the book about the characters they met. It focuses on the struggles of one family in particular, the McCulloughs with four generations living in the area. But it also looks at their friends and the other inhabitants of the corner – the hard core addicts, the kids growing up in the area and the odd soul who is just trying to make things better. It considers the problems and some of the possible solutions. The sad trail of how many people die there makes for hard reading – but there are glints of hope in amongst it. It’s really powerful stuff and shows how smashed parts of US cities are and how the policies and policing are doing nothing to help people stuck in a downward cycle that has been being paid of poorer quality for 30 odd years.
Overall if you liked The Wire – have a read of this. A lot of the inspirations for various different characters can be found here and indeed Bunny’s monologue about drinks in paper bags can be found more or less word for word in it. But this is not the fiction side of things – but real common lives and an incredible bit of work. Not sure how well written it is per se, but I’m not sure that really matters – the harsh reality is well worth the 600 page read.

Inkjet vs Laser Printers
Inkjet vs Laser Printers

See the "Inkjet vs Laser Printers" video
live.pirillo.com/ – Everyone probably has various devices attached to their computers, but we can guarantee that most everyone has a printer. But, which one is better: inkjets or laser printers? The last time Chris used an inkjet printer was about 7 years ago. Since then he has switched to laser and never went back. The conundrum with inkjets is that even though they’re cheap, the ink costs a ton of money: inkjet manufacturers generally sell their printers at a loss with the hopes of making up the money in ink sales.Which one is better? It really depends on what you need to do. If you just do some printing every once in a while, and those prints don’t need to stay around for a longtime, you can probably stick with an inkjet. On the other hand, if you do a lot of printing then laser is the way to go: the cost per page with a laser printer is drastically reduced compared to the current inkjet industry. You’ll pay more up front for the hardware, but you’ll pay less for toner
over time (they’re more expensive, but you don’t need to replacement nearly as often). So, to recap: for quick jobs, or college students, you may just want to pick up an inkjet printer (in the case of a college student, use your universities computer lab). If you’re in a professional setting or do a lot of printing, you’ll probably want to stick with laser printers. What do you recommend?Want to embed our Inkjet vs Laser Printers video in your blog?
