I’m trying to determine if it is finally time to buy a affect laser printer for the office of 20 employees that I support. We do not photograph pictures, but we do photograph lots of charts and graphs that are nice to have in affect (even though there isn’t a large quantity of affect on each page). Can anyone point me to a website that has real data on cost per page for current affect laser printers vs inkjet printers. FYI – I usually buy HP Business Inkjet 1200 series for my inkjet printers which are pretty excellent cost per page vs other inkjet printers, I just can’t find any excellent data on cost per page for affect lasers.

This is one of those “6 of one, half a dozen of another” Q & A’s. There are so many variables to consider I have my own business with one employee (me!) I plotting I’d save money by using an inkjet 3 in 1 unit. Initial cost for the machine was a lot less than a laser 3 in 1 but the cost of ink cartridges was eating me up. I don’t do all that much printing and the cartridges would dry up, etc. and I’d have to replace them when they were only half gone. Toner cartridges are a lot more forgiving. Even if they’ve been sitting for weeks, a few gentle shakes and they’re as excellent as new. No clogged inkjets, etc. Anyway, I’m glad I made the switch to laser.
