(PRWEB) June 23, 2005
New variable data printing technology improves Direct Mail Response Rates by connecting directly with consumers. With the advent of digital printing; tailored customer data such as first and last name, company name, and title can be taken from any database program, such as Excel, and incorporated directly into the in black and white piece while on press. Each piece of collateral is unique, tailored and in full affect. The digital printing process variable data printing (VDP), also referred to as variable digital printing, and is producing direct response rates as much as 500 times higher than traditional methods.
“The ultimate goal in the execution of any direct mail campaign is to make every piece personal, relevant and suitable,” said Photograph Pelican CEO Grant Morris. “This highly tailored approach will deliver effective campaigns that generate increased response rates, lower costs per lead, and increase customer maintenance.”
The more time you take to know your customer demographics, buying patterns, buy windows and preferences, the better your response rates will be. Three factors must exist in order to do a successful variable direct campaign. These are:
1. Accurate customer data
2. Compelling offer or call to action
3. Fantastic creative: (successfully combines key target data and product/benefit attributes into imagery and messaging that resonate with the target audience).
Commercial printing services using variable data printing equipment (manufactured by Xerox, HP/Indigo, NexPress, to name a few) and creative direct marketing campaigns regularly top 20%-35% response rates and in some case studies better than 50%.

I’m not a shop owner, but I’ve had colored pages in black and white.
For the inkjet printers, they usually charge based on the size of the image. From a small logo to about 1/4 of the page, to 1/2 of the page to the picture covers the whole page. The most expensive I’ve encountered life P35.00 (whole page). But, I reckon the toner/powder based printer is a small less expensive. I reckon these are the ones that charge P25.00 regardless of the size of the image. My page size here is the regular letter size. I’m sure a larger page would cost more.
