    Update:

Well… third time seems to be the charm, after swapping out two printer bodies and two duplex units this printer is FINALLY effective properly, so I’m bumping it up to three stars.

Still, it took a lot of my time and try to get things effective; if you want to make the attempt I HIGHLY recommend buy from direct form Dell so that benefit and support are available.

    First 1 Star Review:

In the 6 months I’ve owned this printer (bought direct from Dell) I’ve been able to run 420 pages through it in duplex mode – which is the only mode in which I have a use for it.

I’m now on my following printer body and following duplex unit – you finally get one to work, then other quits, usually in the form of sensor errors that continue to crash paper jams when paper path is clear.

You then have to remove and re-seat various components – often 5-10 times – before the printer “discovers” things are OK, then you run another 20-30 pages through it and it over again reports a (non-existent) jam.

Least anyone wonder, I am *very* experienced with a wide diversity of laser printer, have tried various types of paper, and spent several hours on the phone with Dell support – based on my experience this printer’s design is just a dog if you attempt to run duplex mode.

I bought this printer 3 (THREE) days ago from AMAZON. Printer functions perfectly as it should but emits a high frequency/pitch noise. I called Dell regarding this issue and it turns out that any DELL products bought from any place except DELL have NO warranty. NONE. YES, ZERO warranty for a new product by DELL from Amazon. The technician was trying to tell me that I need to BUY a new diffuser on a strain new product and that by buying their product, there is still no guarantee that it would solve my conundrum.

Amazon should have a disclaimer on DELL products that says NO WARRANTY.

I like the printer except that I and others in the office have had a hard time with the SSF pulling mark forms in at a small angle and therefore rendering the marks unusable. I have found that if you hold the size level with one hand the feed the mark with the other we have better luck. A bit of a design flaw as this is one of our main uses for the machine. Otherwise, it seems to photograph nicely.

I bought this printer direct from Dell quantity 8 months ago. I photograph in duplex mode nearly exclusively and haven’t had any probelms. I have replaced the affect & black cartridges once already and will be equipped for another set of cartridges in quantity 2 months. The printer is super quite and doesn’t jam. I bought the WiFi wireless connecter and hooked it up but it didn’t work straight away and was too bone idle to dig in the manual or call support to figure it out. So now I have it connected via wired ethernet. The affect cartridges are very expensive if you order them directly from Dell. But, you can save 70% by buying them here on Amazon. The DellTrack software is nice but found it annoying after a while so I uninstalled it.

I’ve had the Dell 2130c for over 2 months now and have been very lucky with the printer and photograph consequences. I ordered and installed the duplexor separately. Installation is factually a snap because it simply snaps into place. It has performed flawlessly and I haven’t had a single paper jam. I use 20 lb. general purpose copy paper and 24 lb. laser paper without any problems. Printer noise is not an issue and this printer is no louder than many laser printers that I’ve used. Affect is excellent but not quite excellent enough for photo-quality printing. It’s hard to beat a excellent inkjet printer with a 6 or 8 affect system for photos. I bought the 2130c from the Dell Outlet on eBay and ordered the duplexor direct from Dell. I would recommend this printer to friends.
