New Company Offers Products for HP Pro Series Printers to Reduce Ink Costs

Littleton, CO (PRWEB) February 1, 2010
Adaptive Ink offers three new Continuous Ink Give System (CISS) products for any HP OfficeJet Pro Series printer that uses cartridge numbers 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 88, and 940:
1. Two models of Continuous Refillable Cartridges (set of four cartridges each)
2. Two Mini-Pro Series models with dye or pigment total ink volume of 280mL
3. Eight Pro Series models with dye or pigment ink: 900mL, 1440mL, 1800mL, or 2880mL tanks
Each Pro Series model is equipped to plug-and-play, and includes the following:
Sealed ink tanks that are available in several different volumes
Cartridge assemblies with patent-pending connectors easily connect/disconnect to external tanks
Bladder safely protected inside a tough external tank
High-quality tank storage space drawer/printer stand made of heavy-gauge steel
A near-empty ink level visual indicator to say you when to reorder a new tank
Auto-reset smart chips (except for 940 cartridges)
The smallest Pro Series model starts at 9.95 and has 900mL total ink volume. That is a comparable value of greater than 0 worth of ink and equipment. All products are pre-primed with the same high-quality dye or pigment ink as cartridges sold by OEM printer manufacturers, but at a fraction of the cost.
“Our CISSs provide a fantastic value per volume of ink, especially in our 720mL tanks that provide less than a penny-per-page affect ink cost solution (greater than 38,000 affect pages per ISO/IEC 24711). The ink is contained in an airtight, light-waterproof bladder that keeps the ink chemistry stable beyond 5 years.” said Eric Johnson, VP of Sales & Marketing for Adaptive Ink.
Adaptive Ink also has an innovative recycling program for its empty Pro Series CISS tanks. Customers can simply drop the empty ink tank into any outgoing mailbox, because a pre-paid postage mark has already been applied to the tank – no packaging is required. The U.S. Postal Benefit will return the tanks to Adaptive Ink to be refilled and recycled for the next customer.
“By recycling and refilling these tanks” Johnson said, “our customers are not only saving money, but they are really taking a step towards cleaning up our environment.”

Managed Photograph Services – 3 Stages to Reducing Photograph Costs

Part of the growth cycle of businesses and government organisations is the fact that new departments or workgroups are made to address emerging needs. Often these have their own budgets and cost centres. This, historically, earnings that acquisition of copiers and photograph devices is often made without reference to any centralised focus, resulting in a loss of efficiency and profitability.
Managed Photograph Services (MPS) has, in recent years, become the benchmark concept for photograph cost control. It involves managing photograph/copy device fleets (copiers, printers, multifunction devices, and fax apparatus) in an intelligent, centrally-controlled way.
Naturally, this can be part of an domestic re-organisation. But MPS as a term is usually associated with outsourcing the photograph fleet specification and acquisition to an external supplier. Such a supplier can provide and end-to-end management function to include a Photograph Audit for the entire organisation. It can also specify equipment type and numbers, give hardware, networking and software systems, plus associated support and ongoing management of faults, consumables and upgrades.
Managed Photograph Services – the stages toward implementation
a. SWOT Analysis: A complete “Strengths and Weaknesses” profiling of all current devices and their uses in different departments and workgroups. During this phase of MPS implementation, the watchword is to establish and paper a complete control of the existing device fleet, by analysing use of currently owned assets
b. Optimisation: At this point, the implementation is focused upon optimising the existing printer / copier fleet. Devices can be re-deployed and better used throughout the establishment – maybe without the need to get rid of equipment or buy any new equipment
But, there would usually be a very strong argument emerging from the SWOT analysis, for the rationalisation of the printer estate and the standardisation of the photograph platform to a single vendor. Not least, this would ensure that truly universal photograph drivers can be deployed across the organisation, immediately giving savings in terms of IT resources.
3) Development of Processes: Once the hardware, functionality and networking of systems is complete, then business processes to increase efficiency, save costs and minimise environmental impact are all part of any MPS initiative.
This might include, for example, the implementation of “sleep” mode at night, introduction of mono vs. colour defaults (colour only when necessary, or under password supervision) and ensuring everyday photograph is black and white and double sided, hopefully moving the fleet from a single sided environment, to a mainly duplex one.
In addendum, the introduction of a single cost per page pricing structure (regardless of photograph type) facilitates the monitoring of costs across the whole photograph network, easily charged out across various sites or departments.
Managed Photograph Services – Suppliers
Managed Photograph Services providers have in the past tended to be hardware-centric and focussed on particular equipment manufacturers such as Canon, Hewlett-Packard or Xerox. But the most successful providers have went more and more to the benefit-led element, specifying infrastructure first and then defining the hardware solutions from particular manufacturers to support the specification.

LaserNetworks’ Cost Per Page Program is Solution to Hidden Print Management Costs
Oakville, Ontario (PRWEB) June 12, 2008
Operating at high efficiency in order to increase the bottom line is always a priority for businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Now companies can partner with LaserNetworks (www.lasernetworks.com) to implement a Cost Per Page program that can much impact their bottom line.
The impact of hidden printing costs to corporations is driven home by an industry study conducted by InfoTrends, which states that corporations spend an average of six percent of their yucky revenue on their overall paper management. Most companies, but, reckon they only spend around three percent of yucky revenues, but when hardware, supplies and people costs are considered, the average is around six percent and growing. To reduce these costs, organizations need to consider alternative photograph solution options.
Research has shown that an estimated 50 per cent of the overall printer cost can be tied to support, and of that, 20 per cent can be directly attributed to benefit calls to a company’s IT helpdesk, according to Principal Analyst Louella Fernades of Quocirca.
Most companies’ photograph management operations are askew with many departments operating independently with small or no knowledge of other departments’ printing give needs. The savings that can come as a result of bulk buying are life overlooked.
This is the reason that LaserNetworks launched its Cost Per Page program It includes on-site support of all printing and imaging devices and networks, management of all printer and imaging fleet assets, and provisioning of all printing supplies, everything except paper and power, for a pre-determined, fixed cost per page fee.
“Our experience effective with over 500 North American organizations, including such companies as PepsiCo, and Boeing, has shown that photograph management costs can be reduced as much as 40 percent,” says Chris Stoate, President of LaserNetworks, Canada’s leading photograph solutions company.
LaserNetworks currently supports over 50,000 printing and imaging devices, and delivers on-site benefit throughout Canada and the United States.
“There are numerous ways to reduce a company’s photograph operation costs, bulk buying and eliminating calls to a company’s IT helpdesk are only two of the many solutions available,” says Chris Stoate. “Reducing equipment down-time, leveraging LaserNetworks’ relationship with suppliers, using latest technology in the marketplace without incurring capital costs and taking advantage of the environmentally friendly options available are just a few ways that companies can increase their photograph management operations.”

What is the running costs for a Xerox Phaser printer?
Question by jschwegm: What is the running costs for a Xerox Phaser printer?
I know enough to know that it’s never the cost of the printer that one should be concerned with, but very it’s the ongoing cost of supplies for running that printer which will get you.
Let’s say that I’m going to photograph post cards 4-up on a sheet. So one side will have pretty heavy ink cover (like photos) and the other side of the page will just have some text in black and white on it along with the name and address.
To get to a “per-page-cost” I believe I’ll need to know how many prints I can get from each of the four affect “crayons” that the Phaser uses given my typical affect in black and white page described above.
Once I have that page yield for the affect supplies I will then be able to compute some sort of “cost-per-page” for comparison to other affect printing methods available in the marketplace.

Last Overall Average I saw on the Phaser was 11 cents per page, but that was not for a predominately Photo photograph page use

What is a good site to compare printing costs (eg, cost per page) for various printers?
Question by Don P: What is a excellent site to compare printing costs (eg, cost per page) for various printers?
The real cost of a printer isn’t just what you pay in the store. If one costs a lot more per page to photograph than another, that has to be factored in.
I have seen web pages, reviews etc. that do compare real printing cost per page, but can’t seem to find one right now – now that I”m buying a new printer and really need one.
Do you have any suggestions? Have any web pages or other information sources helped you? Thanks…

Kodak makes some awe-inspiring printers. They are around 100 bucks at walmart, but the ink only costs like 10 bucks to replace. Now take a HP or Lexmark printer which might cost 60 bucks and the replacement inks cost around 30-40. Do the math and go buy yourself a Kodak printer and thank me later.
