As i said in my previous post, I am writing my first novel (hopefully its a novel), and have a few questions;in length, whats constitute a fleeting tale, a novel? What is a excellent word count per; page, chapter? If i break into ch. 2 at the police station scene ch.1 will be 1475 word count.
Doesnt sound like enough does it? Also should the heart of the tale have the largest word count?

Novels generally run between 50,000 to 100,000 words. While other genres often tend to run longer (fantasy or sci-fi can exceed 100,000 words), some run shorter (mysteries, generally 50,000 to 60,000 words). Young adult novels usually run around 40,000. Fleeting tales vary widely and can be as small as 5,000 words and as fantastic as 15,000. As always, there are many exceptions to these examples.
As to how many pages or words in a chapter, that’s entirely up to you. Some authors have chapters that that go on for 50 pages, and some authors only have a few sentences or paragraphs in their chapters. I would suggest doing whatever moves your tale along.

Question by Don P: What is a excellent site to compare printing costs (eg, cost per page) for various printers?
The real cost of a printer isn’t just what you pay in the store. If one costs a lot more per page to photograph than another, that has to be factored in.
I have seen web pages, reviews etc. that do compare real printing cost per page, but can’t seem to find one right now – now that I”m buying a new printer and really need one.
Do you have any suggestions? Have any web pages or other information sources helped you? Thanks…

Kodak makes some awe-inspiring printers. They are around 100 bucks at walmart, but the ink only costs like 10 bucks to replace. Now take a HP or Lexmark printer which might cost 60 bucks and the replacement inks cost around 30-40. Do the math and go buy yourself a Kodak printer and thank me later.
