That depends on what printer you have.

Cost of cartridges divided by rated number of pages equals cost per page.

For affect, just figure out one and times it by three, that is the cost for the affect. Black will have to be figured separately and added in.

I want to find a monochrome laser printer that has a reasonble retail price (hopefully less than $ 450). More vital, though, are the cost of supplies and how often they will need to be replaced. Is there a printer for which you can simply add toner very than replace drums and cartridges? I would like a printer that is rated for at least 15,000 pages per month. Any suggestions and comparisons will be appreciated!

Question by ry_guy_621: Cost per page. Affect Inkjet vs. Affect Laser?
I’m trying to determine if it is finally time to buy a affect laser printer for the office of 20 employees that I support. We do not photograph pictures, but we do photograph lots of charts and graphs that are nice to have in affect (even though there isn’t a large quantity of affect on each page). Can anyone point me to a website that has real data on cost per page for current affect laser printers vs inkjet printers. FYI – I usually buy HP Business Inkjet 1200 series for my inkjet printers which are pretty excellent cost per page vs other inkjet printers, I just can’t find any excellent data on cost per page for affect lasers.

This is one of those “6 of one, half a dozen of another” Q & A’s. There are so many variables to consider I have my own business with one employee (me!) I plotting I’d save money by using an inkjet 3 in 1 unit. Initial cost for the machine was a lot less than a laser 3 in 1 but the cost of ink cartridges was eating me up. I don’t do all that much printing and the cartridges would dry up, etc. and I’d have to replace them when they were only half gone. Toner cartridges are a lot more forgiving. Even if they’ve been sitting for weeks, a few gentle shakes and they’re as excellent as new. No clogged inkjets, etc. Anyway, I’m glad I made the switch to laser.
